Life is too short to be an adult all the time…
So be childlike!
Don’t mistake it for childishness, these are two very different types of behaviours. Instead, we’re referring to the curious nature and imaginative minds that children possess, their carefree attitude and generosity.
Children find happiness in the smallest things and have no judgements of why things are so. Despite their occasional tantrums, their innocence and sweet loving nature brings a smile to every parent’s face.
Like every child, CYNTHIA & XIAO believes in mystical creatures and imaginary friends because not everything has to have an explanation :) We find that keeping our childlike spirit alive helps to spur our imaginations, allowing us to create without limitations.
Along with the launch of our AW20 kids’ collection, we have gathered 5 mommies to share stories on how their children have inspired them and brought joy into their lives.
“Their carefree spirit and creativity remind us to let go, be more present and enjoy life.”
ZACHARIE
How do your children inspire you?
My kids inspire me to be even more aware of my actions and words and to continuously reflect on who I am as a person. They are mirror images of who I am. When they see me not giving up, they learn to be persistent and to always try their best. When they see me greet the people in our building every day, they learn to be kind to everyone. When they watch me solve problems strategically, they learn to think outside the box. Their curiosities about the world motivate me to continue to learn and try new things

After a long day at Disneyland, we were on the train back home. At one of the stops, he saw an elderly man get on and he immediately jumped off his seat and offered it. The elderly man initially refused to take the seat but my son persisted and said, ‘It’s okay, I can stand. But you will get tired easily if you have to stand too long.

CASEY
How does your Casey inspire you?
Casey is always curious about everything and extremely keen in learning. It motivates me to expand my knowledge so that I can teach him more. Raising Casey and our youngest son Mason has given me the patience to nurture a child.
Tell us about a favourite moment with Casey
Once, Casey and I just looked at each other and we had an instant telepathy. Only Casey and I knew what we were thinking (not even his dad). We both gave each other a cheeky smile.

As we enter adulthood, we gradually lose our childlike nature and begin to seek for certainty and control over our lives. However, we believe that keeping our childlike traits even as we grow older is essential for a happier and more fulfilling life. Here are three simple ways to make you live, laugh and love like a child again –
01. BE CURIOUS
As we enter adulthood, we gradually lose our childlike nature and begin to seek for certainty and control over our lives. However, we believe that keeping our childlike traits even as we grow older is essential for a happier and more fulfilling life. Here are three simple ways to make you live, laugh and love like a child again –
02. BE SILLY
Children are clear with their preferences and are unfazed by what others think of them. In the same manner, we should learn to ignore the norms of society, the fear of looking foolish to others and just let loose and have fun. Don’t take life so seriously and live in the moment, you might be able to discover happiness in unexpected places.
03. BE KIND
Children are extremely generous with their love and are not shy about going up to greet a complete stranger. This is a lesson that we should learn from children, to accept and embrace others with grace and without judgement. When we start to pay less attention to ourselves and focus on doing good to others, it also helps to break free from our own problems. A simple eye contact and smile can give others a boost of happiness.
